Position Overview

The Quality Engineer II will support and enforce the quality control systems to ensure standards are established, achieved, and maintained to meet the requirements of the Company, Industry, and Customer standards. They will be the focal point for interfacing Quality Assurance issues with internal and external customers and suppliers, ensuring compliance to the appropriate requirements including non‑conformance analysis and implementation of effective countermeasures.

What

You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
  • Establish and communicate facility audits to include internal, customer, and 3rd registrar audits
  • Establish and maintain the organization’s audit guidelines
  • Facilitate audit activities with 3rd party auditors, customers, and internal team members to include pre‑briefings, kick off, and debriefings
  • Document audit findings and observations using corrective actions and ensure team members complete required actions
  • Establish clear criteria to measure supplier performance and recommend the appropriate actions for suppliers that excel (skip lot), or fall short (corrective actions, audits etc.)
  • Communicate with vendors as needed to improve performance, resolve issues and support internal teams
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to determine primary issues for customers, and primary reason for returns with suppliers to drive improvement and increase performance
  • Prioritize actions using methodologies including Voice of Customer (VOC), Measurement Systems Assessment (MSA), Failure Mode Analysis (FMEA), Cause and Effect (C&E), and Control Parameter Management (CPM)
  • Utilize appropriate quality analysis tools to review the quality processes to drive improvement and ensure continued compliance with customer requirements, specifications, and quality performance expectations
  • Schedule and track Inspection and Quality activities to achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency
  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service by investigating and correcting customer issues and complaints
  • Regularly report customer and supplier quality metrics such as First Time Quality performance and internal / external defect rates
  • Contribute to team effort by working cross functionally to deliver the desired results for the business
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring (Qualifications & Skills)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Structural, Systems, or related field from an Accredited Institution
  • 3‑5 years in distribution, manufacturing, or Supply Chain
  • Experience working in Aerospace quality systems preferred
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering technical data, such as manufacturing or part drawings, to provide guidance to cross‑functional teams
  • Significant experience working directly with customers and suppliers
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong problem solving, organizational, project management and decision‑making skills
  • Understand internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards
  • Ability to process and effectively communicate information using MS 365 Suite of tools (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)

  • U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required
  • ITAR requirement
  • 120.15. Some positions will require current U.S. Citizenship due to contract requirements
