Overview
We are seeking a highly strategic and commercially driven Merchandise Manager to partner with design, product development, planning, sales, and leadership teams at Liverpool Los Angeles. This role is responsible for building and leading a best-in-class merchandising function across wholesale and DTC channels, ensuring product assortments are consumer-led, financially optimized, and aligned to brand direction.
The ideal candidate combines strong line planning architecture expertise, deep omnichannel experience, and a proven ability to translate consumer and sales signals into actionable product strategy. This leader thrives in fast‑paced environments, is highly analytical, and is equally comfortable in creative product conversations and financial planning discussions.
Key Responsibilities Merchandising Strategy & Line Architecture- Own seasonal and annual merchandise strategy across DTC and wholesale channels
- Build and evolve line plan architecture to optimize depth, breadth, and segmentation by channel and customer
- Ensure assortments reflect brand positioning, margin targets, and consumer demand signals
- Partner closely with design and product development to shape product direction from concept to market
- Own retail, IMU and channel architecture strategy, ensuring each channel delivers a distinct but connected brand and revenue strategy
- Define assortment hierarchy, exclusivity strategy, and style duplication rules across channels
- Optimize category roles, price architecture, and consumer journey across retail touchpoints
- Drive cohesive merchandising strategies across wholesale and DTC businesses while respecting channel nuances
- Align inventory flow, pricing strategy, and assortment architecture across channels to maximize sell-through and profitability
- Partner with sales teams to ensure wholesale partners are supported with the right product mix and seasonal stories and tools
- Lead weekly, monthly, and seasonal performance reviews, translating sales data into actionable insights
- Co-Own sell-through analysis, replenishment strategy, and markdown optimization
- Leverage competitive analysis and trend intelligence to inform in‑season and future planning decisions
- Act as a central connector between design, production, planning, and sales teams
- Influence product direction through clear storytelling supported by data and consumer insight
- Partner with leadership to align merchandising strategy with broader business goals
- Own and lead product assortments and rankings for eCommerce and wholesale ATS business
- Maintain a strong pulse on fashion trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape
- Translate qualitative insights and quantitative data into actionable merchandising strategies
- Champion a consumer‑obsessed mindset across the organization
- Develop scalable merchandising frameworks, tools, and processes to support growth
- Improve forecasting, line planning, and assortment planning systems
- Drive consistency in merchandising discipline across teams and channels
- 10+ years of experience in merchandising, buying, or product strategy within fashion or apparel
- Deep experience in both DTC and wholesale environments
- Strong command of line planning, assortment architecture, and financial merchandising
- Proven ability to analyze sales data and translate insights into fast, decisive action
- Experience building or scaling merchandising systems and processes
- Strong commercial acumen with a balance of creativity and analytical rigor
- Excellent cross-functional leadership and influencing skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in fast‑moving environments
Salary Range:$100k-$130k
