C.A. Hull is a union-based heavy highway contractor employing skilled trades. Skilled, career-oriented tradespeople are encouraged to apply. No experience? No problem! You may be placed into an apprenticeship program that allows you to learn while you work and get paid. While our main office is located in Commerce Township, MI, our jobs can be found all over the state of Michigan – including metro Detroit, Lansing, and Battle Creek.

Role:Painter
Painter duties include, but are not limited to, Cleaning and painting Michigan’s bridges to protect and maintain these structures from the elements and ensure their structural characteristics for years to come. Painters specialize in the following:
- Sandblasting
- Spraying applied coatings
- Caulking
- Scaffolding, rigging and containments
- SSPC / AMPP certifications a plus
- CDL / Chauffeurs a plus
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions (including snow, rain, and varying temperatures)
- Working at heights with the use of mobile equipment and ladders
- Physical ability to stand, use hands and tools, reach, climb or balance; occasional walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Working near highway traffic and noisy operations
- Ability to lift or carry up to 10, 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs
- No coatings experience? We offer extensive training and opportunities for advanced certifications.
- Pre-employment requirements as noted above.
- Must be able to work outdoors and at heights; comply with safety programs.
