High School Social Studies Teaching Position
Jackson County School System is seeking qualified applicants for a High School Social Studies Teaching Position serving students at Jackson County High School. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or related field and eligibility to hold a GaPSC issued teaching certificate in Social Sciences. Preferred qualifications include an Advanced Degree in Social Sciences or related field, holding a GaPSC issued teaching certificate in Social Sciences, and experience working in a public school district as a high school teacher.
Working conditions involve performing work in a standard in-person classroom setting. This includes regularly standing, speaking, and interacting with students, parents, and colleagues. Occasional lifting of materials or equipment may be required. The ability to use classroom technology, including projectors, computers, and learning management systems is necessary. Regular work hours are during the school day, with occasional evening or weekend commitments for parent-teacher conferences, school events, or professional development.
Candidates must be adaptable to varying student needs and class sizes and may include additional duties such as sponsoring extracurricular activities or supervising student clubs.
Employment terms include a 190 work calendar and an annual salary based on degree level and previous years of experience in a similar role according to Jackson County Schools Salary Schedules.
