About the Role

The Utility Engineer (Electrical) plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems within our organization. This position involves designing and overseeing the construction of substations and distribution systems, which are vital for delivering power to our customers. The engineer will also be responsible for implementing demand response strategies to optimize energy usage and reduce peak load.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical substation layouts and distribution systems to meet operational requirements.
  • Oversee the construction and commissioning of substations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Implement demand response programs to enhance energy efficiency and manage peak load effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage work processes and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Conduct regular assessments and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical utility engineering, specifically in substation design and construction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with advanced demand response technologies and strategies.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
