Health Educator
The Jackson County Health Department is seeking a passionate and community-focused Health Educator to join our team. This position plays a vital role in promoting healthy behaviors and improving the health and well-being of adolescents, families, and communities through education, outreach, and collaboration.
The Health Educator will assess community needs related to adolescent health, with a focus on teen pregnancy prevention and comprehensive sexual health education. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based health education programs that encourage healthy lifestyles and improve health outcomes.
As a Health Educator with the Northeast Health District, you will join a dedicated team of public health professionals committed to protecting and improving the health of Georgia's communities. Through education, outreach, and collaboration, you will empower adolescents, families, and community partners to make informed decisions that promote lifelong health and well-being.
Job Responsibilities- Deliver engaging classroom presentations and educational programs on adolescent health and healthy decision-making.
- Provide one-on-one health education and counseling to clients.
- Conduct clinical intake activities and assist with client education during clinic visits.
- Plan and coordinate community outreach events and health awareness campaigns.
- Facilitate parent education sessions to encourage family involvement and support.
- Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in assessing community health needs and evaluating program effectiveness.
- Maintain program records, reports, and documentation in accordance with agency requirements.
- Work both independently and as an active member of the Adolescent Health Team to support program goals.
Bachelor's degree in Education, Health Education, Public Health, Social Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Biological Sciences, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
