Job DescriptionThe Compton Community College District is now accepting applications for anticipated part‑time faculty positions to teach courses with emphasis in the following disciplines:
- Mathematics
- Spanish
- Social Science (Civics, Economics, U.S. History, World History)
- Science (Chemistry, Biology, Earth Science, Physical Science)
- Spanish: a bachelor’s in Spanish.
- Mathematics: a bachelor’s in mathematics.
- English: a bachelor’s degree in English, literature, comparative literature, composition, linguistics, speech, creative writing, or journalism; or a bachelor’s degree in any discipline and twelve semester units of coursework in teaching reading.
- Social Science: a bachelor’s in any social science discipline appropriate for the course.
- Science: a bachelor’s in a natural science discipline appropriate for the course. Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socio‑economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, and of individuals with disabilities.
Hourly range: $41.28 – $72.27 (depending on education and experience). Part‑time faculty members are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of class hours assigned per semester and cumulative semesters of instruction for the District.
Conditions of EmploymentPart‑time teaching assignment(s). Offer and acceptance of employment is subject to verification of all information provided on the application, credentials, transcripts, fingerprint results, and tuberculosis examination as required. Candidates selected for employment will be required to provide verification of work authorization in the form of a passport, valid driver’s license, or other equivalent identification, and a social security card.
