Overview

Branch placement will be determined at the time of offer. This position will support the Compton area and surrounding communities and provide exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and identify customer needs to provide appropriate financial solutions.
  • Work collaboratively within the branch and with BMO partners across channels to deliver a seamless customer experience and meet business objectives.
  • Proactively engage existing customers and prospects with needs‑based assessments to grow loyalty and uncover immediate and future opportunities.
  • Recommend tailored solutions, including everyday banking, retail investments, lending, home financing and small business solutions, while promoting digital and self‑serve options.
  • Support customer transactions and ensure accurate data entry and lending application recommendations in compliance with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements.
  • Apply the Risk Management Framework to protect the bank’s assets and maintain portfolio quality, following yield, diversification, and risk guidelines.
  • Make credit recommendations for personal lending, including home financing, in line with bank policies and credit guidelines.
  • Act as a key member of the branch and market team, probing for personal banking and credit card needs and integrating marketing programs into conversations.
  • Organize work information for accuracy and completeness, and take initiative to develop creative, personalized customer experiences.
  • Contribute to business results and the continuous improvement of the overall customer experience.
  • Work flexibly across multiple branches or channels, with variable scheduling based on market needs.
  • Follow risk and compliance processes to safeguard customer assets, privacy, and interests.
  • Stay current with financial services marketplace trends, legal and regulatory developments, and ethical standards.
  • Identify and report suspicious patterns related to money laundering and comply with jurisdictional requirements.
  • Complete complex tasks and handle escalations within established limits.
  • Analyze issues, determine next steps, and adapt to broader accountabilities as assigned.
  • Apply the Risk Management Framework to make sound, risk‑informed decisions that align with business strategy and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience; post‑secondary degree in a related field desirable, or equivalent education and experience.
  • For Canada:
    Completed registration to sell investment products (as appropriate).
  • Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
  • Working knowledge of personal and small business customer needs, retail investments, and lending products.
  • Experience in financial services is an asset.
  • Comfortable with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Consultative sales or customer service experience with a drive to deliver a personal customer experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport and connections.
  • Aptitude for listening, problem‑solving, and creative, flexible responses to new challenges.
  • Organizational, analytical, and collaboration skills rated as good or above.
  • For U.S. only:
    Originator of consumer loans per Regulation Z, G and S.A.F.E. Act; required Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry; compliance with asset‑closing restrictions.
  • Criminal background review and credit history evaluation required; additional restrictions on real estate agent capacity.
