Public Safety Supervisor
Under general supervision, plans, coordinates, and supervises day-to-day operations of assigned public safety programs, including Code Enforcement, Security Services, and Parking Enforcement. The Public Safety Supervisor ensures consistent application of City policies, ordinances, and operational procedures; supervises field staff; coordinates enforcement activities; responds to complex or sensitive issues; and serves as a key operational liaison between management and frontline personnel. Performs related duties as required.
Receives general supervision from the Public Safety Director or designee. Exercises direct supervision over Code Enforcement Officers, Security Officers, Parking Control Officers, and assigned support staff.
This is a first-line supervisory classification responsible for coordinating and supervising multiple public safety functions across enforcement disciplines. Incumbents are not department heads and do not establish Citywide policy, but are responsible for implementing policies, supervising staff, and ensuring operational consistency across programs. This classification replaces prior standalone supervisory roles within Code Enforcement and Security Services.

- Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates daily operations of Code Enforcement, Security Services, and Parking Enforcement programs.
- Assigns work, schedules staff, monitors workloads, and ensures adequate coverage for assigned shifts and geographic areas.
- Reviews enforcement activities to ensure consistency with City policy, Municipal Code provisions, and departmental procedures.
- Supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned staff; provides coaching, direction, and corrective guidance.
- Reviews reports, citations, and documentation prepared by staff for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Investigates minor personnel issues and recommends appropriate corrective action in accordance with City policies and labor agreements.
- Oversees field inspections, patrol activities, and enforcement actions conducted by assigned staff.
- Responds to complex, sensitive, or escalated public complaints and enforcement issues.
- Coordinates enforcement activities across Code Enforcement, Security, and Parking to ensure unified and consistent service delivery.
- Coordinates with the City Attorney's Office regarding enforcement actions, abatement proceedings, and court-related matters.
- Works collaboratively with other City departments, outside agencies, and law enforcement partners on public safety and compliance matters.
- Ensures evidence, reports, and case documentation are properly prepared and maintained by staff.
- Prepares and reviews operational reports related to enforcement activities, staffing, and workload metrics.
- Assists management with operational planning, procedural improvements, and implementation of departmental initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with safety standards, training requirements, and use-of-equipment protocols.
- Responds to public inquiries regarding enforcement activities, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Represents the Department in meetings with residents, business owners, and community stakeholders as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Possession of an Associate's degree or equivalent; AND Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in code enforcement, security services, parking enforcement, or a related regulatory or public safety field; AND One (1) year of lead or supervisory…
