Mechanical / Industrial Equipment Specialist Job Description
Mechanical / Industrial Equipment Specialist with hands-on expertise and industry knowledge to install, troubleshoot, and maintain manufacturing machinery and equipment. This role includes supporting production, modifying machines, reading drawings, and collaborating across departments to improve efficiency.
The Specialist will handle multiple machines and equipment simultaneously at different stages and work under the general supervision of the Director of Engineering. The candidate should be capable of performing most job functions independently and providing support or guidance to other production staff.
Manufacturing Operations include: mechanical systems, electrical systems, machine installation, testing, and production support.
- Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and modify industrial machinery and equipment.
- Support the startup of new processes and equipment.
- Ensure machines operate safely, efficiently, and reliably on the production floor.
- Evaluate equipment performance and recommend practical improvements.
- Provide technical support on production, product, or quality issues as required.
- Conduct inspections, basic testing, and preventive maintenance.
- Read and work from mechanical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Work with engineers, purchasing, R&D, and production teams as needed.
- Participate and provide feedback in cross-functional meetings.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or hands-on experience in mechanical/electrical/industrial fields preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with manufacturing machinery, equipment installation, or maintenance.
- Demonstrable ability to work independently on production machinery.
- Schedule flexibility with willingness to work extra hours as needed.
Ability to perform measurement-based calculations and interpret technical drawings.
Mathematical Skills NeededAbility to perform measurement-based calculations and interpret technical drawings.
Reasoning Ability NeededAbility to troubleshoot mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, solve practical production problems, and interpret technical instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

SalarySalary: $85,000 - $120,000 per year.
