The Compton Community College District is hiring part‑time faculty for the 2018–2019 academic year to teach courses in Nursing.

Starting hourly rate ranges from $42.66 to $68.83, depending on education and experience.

• Master's degree in Nursing.
• Direct patient care experience within the last five years in the nursing area assigned, which can be met by:
  • One year’s continuous full‑time RN clinical care in the designated area, or
  • One academic year of RN level clinical teaching experience in the area that demonstrates clinical competency.
• Valid California Registered Nurse license or eligibility for licensure.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of college students.

• Recent community college teaching experience.
• Experience in reading, developmental, and transfer‑level composition.
• Ability to address the needs of students from developmental through transfer levels, especially those who are under‑prepared.
• Experience developing and using innovative teaching strategies, current methodology in reading and composition, and learning technologies.
• Experience teaching online.
• Commitment to Basic Skills instruction.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
