OverviewWe are looking for a motivated Quality Control/ Analytical Chemist to join our analytical laboratory team based in Compton, Newbury. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in analytical chemistry who enjoys practical laboratory work and wants to develop their technical skills within a supportive QC environment.
The successful candidate will support analytical testing, method development activities, and laboratory operations using a range of chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques.
Main Responsibilities- Carry out analytical testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products
- Perform routine laboratory analysis using a range of analytical techniques including:
- HPLC
- GC
- IC
- NMR
- Record, review, and report analytical data accurately
- Support method development for new products using HPLC, IC or GC
- Perform instruments and method quality checks to ensure the reliability of generated data.
- Supporting laboratory investigations through data evaluation and problem solving
- Assist with troubleshooting analytical methods and instrumentation
- Contribute to method validation activities where required
- Complete laboratory documentation in accordance with SOPs and quality procedures
- Ensure analytical reports and data are maintained correctly
- Work in line with ISO standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline
- Strong interest in analytical chemistry and laboratory-based work
- Practical experience of:
- HPLC
- GC
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and computer literacy skills
- Exposure to method development or troubleshooting
- Practical experience of:
- IC
- NMR
- Previous experience working within a laboratory environment
- Understanding of ISO laboratory standards
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn
- Practical and hands-on approach
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Reliable team player with a positive attitude
