Parent PartnerWe seek a Parent Partner for California MENTOR Family Support Services. The role involves providing guidance to parents or caregivers based on prior personal experience as a parent or guardian of a child involved in the care system. The position reports to a senior supervisor and collaborates with clinical staff.
Annual Salary: $49,000 (plus overtime).
Full time – 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities- Guidance to parents/caregivers who have children being served through the system, sharing and relating your own prior experience.
- Advocacy and liaison services between families, children, clinicians, treatment staff, community agencies, and services.
- Participate as a member of the Child and Family Team (CFT), trainings, court review hearings, IEP, and other meetings and assist the parents/caregivers in raising and discussing difficult issues.
- Lead or co‑lead individual and parent counseling groups providing education, consultation, or other needed services.
- Documentation and record‑keeping.
- Provide services in the home and community – flexibility with schedule.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior personal experience as a parent or legal guardian of a child who has been involved with the system (DCFS, probation, Regional Center, Department of Mental Health or the like) required.
- Probation and/or DCFS case must be closed for at least one year.
- Two years of experience in a mental health setting strongly preferred.
- Valid driver license for at least one year, reliable transportation with registration and insurance.
- Full‑time position (40 hours per week).
