CNC - Technician

Position: CNC - Technician 1
Position Summary:

The machine operator position operates CNC machines or other computer-controlled equipment under supervision and direction of production supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Performs typical CNC operations or other computer-controlled machine operators.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
• Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts
• Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above.
• Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

Qualifications:

• If working in the Finish Department or Final Inspection and you make decisions on color then you must score a 50 or better on a Nucraft administered Color Test.
• If working in the Finish Lab you must score a 16 or better on a Nucraft administered color test.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED
• Entry level for CNC machines or computer operated equipment.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Hearing protection and mask or respirators are provided for where required.

Computer Skills:

Some machines require computer skills.

Expected Hours:

• This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm.
• Overtime is expected when posted in advance.
