Accounting Clerk

Description

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations for a construction-focused business. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing billing activities, payroll-related documentation, and high-volume accounting records with accuracy. The position requires someone who can keep receivables, payables, and project-related financial information organized and current.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and manage progress billings for construction projects, ensuring contract terms and billing schedules are followed accurately.

- Process certified payroll records and maintain supporting documentation in compliance with project and regulatory requirements.

- Handle accounts payable tasks, including reviewing invoices, entering payment details, and maintaining organized vendor records.

- Support accounts receivable activities by tracking customer balances, applying payments, and following up on outstanding invoices.

- Enter financial and project-related data into Quick Books and other internal records with a high level of accuracy.

- Review invoice details for completeness and alignment with job costs, approvals, and billing requirements.

- Assist with construction accounting activities by maintaining organized financial records tied to projects, vendors, and payroll reporting.

Requirements - At least 3 years of experience in an accounting clerk or similar accounting support role.

- Previous experience working with construction accounting processes, including project-related billing and payroll documentation.

- Proficiency with Quick Books and confidence using accounting systems for daily transaction processing.

- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice processing procedures.

- Strong data entry skills with careful attention to accuracy and recordkeeping.

- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain organized financial documentation in a fast-paced environment.
