Overview
We are currently seeking a Project Accountant for our Water Division, located in Concord, CA. Walsh is a fourth‑generation, family‑owned business that offers a small‑company feel with large‑company backing. The pay range for this role is $63,000.00 – $79,000.00. This position may also be eligible for a bonus and other benefits. Responsibilities- Review and process subcontracts, subcontract change orders, and performance and payment bonds to ensure compliance with specified terms.
- Collect and review project subcontractor/supplier lien waivers.
- Collect, review, and process subcontractor/supplier monthly project invoices, ensuring all invoices are accrued properly and timely to the correct cost reports and phase codes.
- Ensure proper payments to all subcontractors and major suppliers.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the monthly P&L process, ensuring timely submittal of project P&Ls and reviewing them for accuracy.
- Process cost transfers on project cost reports for Project Management staff.
- Provide monthly assistance to Project Management staff in preparing monthly billings to project owners.
- Analyze owner billing in depth when applicable, collect, review, and submit monthly owner billings to the Senior Project Accountant II for processing.
- Monitor cash flow and communicate with project staff about tracking accounts receivable and project payments.
- Work independently and travel to job sites to perform regular cost report reviews.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business‑related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of construction accounting experience.
