Construction Inspectors spend the majority of their time working on projects performing construction-related inspections requiring specific certifications and/or experience. They perform daily inspections of construction projects, monitoring quality and adherence to building code requirements, construction drawings, and project specifications. Inspections may include multiple disciplines such as structural steel, concrete, masonry, fireproofing, etc., and may involve visual/physical inspection and field testing to verify conformance.

Inspectors prepare reports and document observations, testing, and findings, communicating results to engineers or project managers. They collaborate with project teams on solutions to potential issues and adhere to strict safety standards.

• Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed, following training and procedures to ensure work conforms to specifications.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Document findings clearly and accurately.
• Prepare inspection reports and document nonconformance.
• Analyze data for accuracy before submitting to the Project Manager.
• Communicate findings to relevant personnel and interact with clients and site personnel as needed.
• Assist in developing scope for testing and inspection services.
• Coordinate pre-dispatch activities and maintain equipment calibration.
• Assist senior inspectors on complex projects.
• Drive company vehicles as required.
• Follow safety practices, report issues, and maintain quality standards on all projects.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree in Civil or Construction Engineering Technology preferred.
• Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in construction inspection.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

• Completion of internal safety certifications.
• At least three certifications in areas such as NICET Level II in Construction Materials Testing, Geotechnical, ICC certifications, AWS CWI, ASNT Level II, or ACI certifications, among others.
• Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation if applicable.

The salary range is $37.75 - $52.75 per hour, adjusted based on location, qualifications, and experience.
