Overview

The Assistant Project Manager, Electrical Construction is an entry‑level project management position in which the APM learns and develops competency in essential duties and responsibilities while providing administrative and construction support to the Project Management team.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
  • Oversee project activities assigned by the Project Manager, including planning, coordinating, and resolving problem areas.
  • Maintain change orders, submittals, and document control logs; prepare required logs and project documentation for construction meetings.
  • Ensure contract submittals are accurate and timely.
  • Create and issue subcontractor contracts.
  • Assemble and deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Follow the project quality control plan.
  • Interact with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings.
  • Maintain the Warranty Log.
  • Attend project meetings with clients and subcontractors, providing project management support.
  • Assist field personnel as needed.
  • Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress.
  • Create Job Information Sheets and establish Job Files.
  • Prepare price change orders, project reports, and documentation.
  • Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
  • Tactful professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others.
  • Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and follow‑up skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellence in organization and time management.
  • Ability to identify and meet customer expectations and requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel);
    Oracle experience preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.
  • Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients.
What You Bring To Us
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a construction‑related role.
  • Combination of training, education, and relevant work experience that is equivalent.
Travel

Up to 25% travel required.

Working Conditions
  • Position performed primarily on active construction sites; activities include sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
  • Work conducted mainly indoors with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Noise level typically low to medium.
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
