The Summer School High School Principal is responsible for the successful planning, administration, and supervision of the summer school program. This role ensures a positive, inclusive, and effective learning environment for students while managing staff, overseeing curriculum implementation, and ensuring compliance with district policies and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership for the summer school program.
- Assist with the development of and oversee the summer school schedule, staffing assignments, and student placement.
- Supervise and support summer school teachers, counselors, and support staff to ensure effective instruction.
- Address and resolve student, parent, and staff concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure curriculum alignment with CVCHS and state standards.
- Monitor instructional practices to support student learning and achievement.
- Promote a positive school culture that encourages respect, responsibility, and academic success.
- Enforce school policies related to attendance, discipline, and student behavior.
- Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and disciplinary actions.
- Oversee assessments, grading, and reporting procedures.
- Seasonal position spanning June 8 - July 10.
- Holidays:
June 19th and July 4th.
- Valid California clear or preliminary Administrative Credential (preferred).
- Experience with summer school programs, student interventions, and curriculum development preferred.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of best practices in instruction, assessment, and student support.
