Position Overview
Carondelet High School ( About us ) is seeking a full‑time Academic and Learning Support (ALS) Case Manager for the 2026–2027 school year. The ALS Case Manager is a central figure in the school’s student support ecosystem, ensuring that students with academic and learning needs receive the coordinated, compassionate, and effective support they deserve.
With a caseload of approximately 50–75 students, the ALS Case Manager provides individualized guidance, facilitates access to resources, advocates for appropriate accommodations, and collaborates with teachers, families, and other professionals. Student needs may range from light‑touch academic coaching to complex intervention planning. The Case Manager is expected to adapt flexibly to each unique situation.
In addition to meeting with students during unscheduled periods or in before/after‑school sessions, the Case Manager may “push in” to existing HFCE course sections to conduct student check‑ins and provide support in context.

Manage a caseload of approximately 50–75 students, providing academic and learning support for both students with formal academic plans and those identified as at‑risk who may need temporary or ongoing intervention.
Conduct regular 1:1 check‑ins and small group sessions to review academic progress, set goals, and adjust strategies as needed.
Foster student growth in self‑advocacy, time management, executive functioning, and academic confidence.
Review psycho educational evaluations, recommend accommodations, and develop/maintain formal academic accommodation plans (CAP/CEP) in alignment with school policies.
Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and outside professionals to create and implement individualized support plans.
Proactively identify students who may benefit from further evaluation, intervention, or external support.
Encourage students to understand and act on teacher feedback; monitor academic performance and intervene early when challenges arise.
Recommend and liaise with external tutors, learning specialists, and evaluators as appropriate.
Coordinate and administer extended time accommodations for classroom assessments and standardized testing (e.g., AP, PSAT, HSPT).
Facilitate transitions for incoming ninth‑grade students, including coordination with public school districts for assessment records and planning.
Instructional and Curricular AlignmentMaintain working knowledge of curriculum expectations, major assessments, and grading practices across departments—especially in core 9th and 10th grade courses.
Consult Schoology and other LMS tools to stay informed of student assignments and timelines.
Assist students in understanding and responding to teacher feedback and course requirements.
Collaborate with the HFCE Coach to co‑strategize support plans and refer students for strategic skill‑building.
Partner with teachers to identify students in academic distress and co‑create support plans.
Participate in weekly ALS team and other academic team meetings (as needed) to review student progress and needs.
Strategize with the ALS Director and broader Student Support team to refine support systems and recommend school wide academic initiatives.
Recommend and coordinate tutoring, remediation resources, or external supports where needed.
After‑School and Community ProgrammingOrganize and run Power Lab/Power Start before and after‑school programming to support students in real‑time.
