Environmental Field Technician

Job Overview

APTIM is seeking an Environmental Field Tech for our Solid Waste Services Group in the Concord, CA area to support our solid‑waste projects.

• Groundwater, leachate, landfill gas monitoring, surface water, and soil sampling
• Maintenance and calibration of field monitoring equipment
• Coordinate with the field team and laboratory to prepare sampling paperwork and bottle orders for sampling events
• Prepare testing, sampling, or inspection reports consistent with guidelines and standards of care
• Perform Construction Quality Assurance Services (CQA) for landfill construction
• Conduct earthwork testing, including nuclear density testing
• Perform soil logging and oversee drilling operations
• Prepare daily reports and data sheets

• High school diploma or college degree
• 3+ years of similar experience
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• 40‑hour HAZWOPER current certificate, or ability to complete it within one month of hire
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel as required
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook

• Experience with solid‑waste or landfill sites
• Strong troubleshooting abilities related to industrial controls
• Ability to read civil and mechanical drawings
• Occasional access to confined operational spaces

Pay range: $28–$34 per hour (based on experience, education, and market factors).
