Designer; Concord

About the Role

We are seeking a Designer to develop and optimize packaging solutions for automotive parts and assemblies. The ideal candidate has strong Solid Works skills, hands‑on packaging experience, and a focus on protection, cost‑efficiency, and sustainability.

• Design and develop packaging for automotive parts, assemblies, and materials using advanced Solid Works skills (AutoCAD, CATIA, NX a plus).
• Create detailed packaging drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs) aligned with customer and internal standards.
• Evaluate and improve existing packaging to enhance protection, reduce costs, and optimize logistics and sustainability.
• Conduct packaging tests to verify design performance.
• Collaborate with suppliers to prototype and validate new packaging concepts.
• Maintain accurate packaging documentation, revision control, and approval records.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and internal quality standards.
• Support implementation of returnable/reusable packaging programs.
• Work closely with production, logistics, quality, and purchasing teams to ensure packaging compatibility with manufacturing and distribution processes.
• Participate in supplier reviews and process improvement meetings.
• Recommend packaging improvements that reduce material use, waste, and carbon footprint.

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive packaging design or engineering.
• High‑level proficiency in Solid Works (advanced modeling, assemblies, simulation, and drawing creation). AutoCAD, CATIA, or NX is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of automotive packaging materials (corrugated, foam, plastics, metal racks, etc.) and protective design principles.
• Familiarity with supply chain, logistics, lean manufacturing, and design‑for‑manufacturing principles.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational abilities.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, or similar automotive product launch processes is an asset.

Job Type: Full‑time

Pay: $50,000.00–$55,000.00 per year
