Sr Engineers, Systems Design

Senior Engineers Systems Design in Concord, CA will design, plan, and optimize 4G/5G networks across T-MOBILE USA.

• Provide guidelines on design, planning, capacity management, and deployment of GSM, UMTS, LTE, and .
• Develop national or regional standards, documents, processes, and practices.
• Conduct and manage design reviews and operation reviews with all markets in the region.
• Perform 5G designs for the region and support new technology market launches.
• Drive consistency across multiple planning tools and address data integrity issues across planning and deployment databases.
• Interpret technical specifications in accordance with Wireless industry standards (3
  
  GPP, ITUT, IETF, ANSI) to establish wireless network designs and provide technical leadership for LTE/5G network architecture and protocols.
• Ensure compliance with travel requirements: 5% national travel, primarily meetings at the office.

• Utilizing RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF engineering tools and antenna theory.
• Experience with 3G/LTE RAN structure and Radio network performance KPIs, performing L3 analysis, and SON features.
• Proficiency with Ericsson platforms (2G, 3G & LTE OSS, AMOS) and other vendor small cell products (Nokia, Alcatel).
• Managing VoLTE optimization and performance, including SIP messaging and special event management.
• Creating RAN report analysis (ICSU/GPEH/UEH/UETR/CTR Trace) across multiple Ericsson releases.
• Utilizing Map Info, Actix, and Asset tools to implement Ericsson EDOS;
  Excel macros and SQL programming.
• Master’s degree in Electrical/Communications Engineering or a related field with 3 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience.

• Telecommuting permitted, but must work from the worksite location at least 3–4 days per week.
