The Opportunity
Contra Costa Water District is seeking up to two (2) or more Assistant and/or Associate Engineer(s) to join the Engineering Department, with the potential to fill additional project‑funded position(s) depending on the qualifications of candidates identified. As a valued member of the Engineering department, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects and initiatives that support the CCWD’s critical infrastructure while continuing to grow professionally and expand technical expertise.

- Serve as an integral member contributing to improvements across the treated and untreated water storage systems, water treatment plants, dams, and other critical facilities, including potential support of the Contra Costa Canal replacement.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- Training: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Two (2) years of professional engineering experience.
- Licenses and
Certifications:- Possession of a valid California driver’s license to be maintained throughout employment.
- Possession of a valid certificate as an Engineer‑in‑Training issued by the State of California to be maintained throughout employment.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- Training: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Two (2) years of professional engineering experience comparable to an Assistant Engineer at the CCWD.
- Licenses and
Certifications:- Possession of a valid license as a Professional Engineer issued by the State of California to be maintained throughout employment.
