Pension Analyst
• Concord, CA
TEKsystems is looking for a Pension Analyst to process pension applications and related tasks.
Responsibilities- Provide accurate and detailed pension estimates and respond to member and union representative queries.
- Answer inbound and outbound phone calls, explaining issues and potential solutions.
- Assist members through the online self‑service portal and in person regarding pension questions and applications.
- Identify member issues rapidly and resolve them, informing members of outcomes.
- Review, analyze, process and verify pension applications and inquiries submitted by other Pension Analysts.
- Process retirement applications and verify accuracy by developing a written chronological order of member work history.
- Process death notices, pension payment verifications, restarts, potential suspensions, and void requests.
- Reconcile stale dated reports and perform various pension processing tasks.
- Determine pension benefit eligibility, evaluate retirement types, and calculate benefit amounts for all Pension Plans.
- Process retirement adjustments such as post‑age‑70 accrual adjustments, QDRO carve‑outs, and survivor benefit pop‑ups.
- Process suspensible service, rule‑of‑85 calculations, surviving spouse applications, community share calculations, referrals, and updates to member records.
- Perform and verify calculations of vesting credit, plan service credit, account balance, service breaks, and related issues.
- Initiate and prepare correspondence to members, beneficiaries, employers, and others regarding account information, pension history, benefits, and tax reporting.
- Review, analyze, process, and mail requested information for facilitators, powers of attorney, and conservatorships.
- Perform data entry and correction tasks to update member information and pension data systems.
- Respond to inquiries from active and former members, beneficiaries, and employers about pension benefits.
- Bilingual experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of defined benefit and defined contribution plans is a plus.
- Pension plans, pension administration, benefits administration, benefit plan, HIPAA, benefits verification.
