OPEN & PROMOTIONAL JOB OPPORTUNITY Permit Center Technician I/II/III

The City of Concord’s Community Development Department is seeking to fill one Permit Center Technician vacancy in the Building Division.

The Permit Center Technician I, II, and III classifications are part of a Flexibly Staffed Classification series. Initial placement in any of these classifications will be dependent upon qualifications.

Salary ranges:

  • Permit Center Technician I: $5,225 - $6,668/month
  • Permit Center Technician II: $6,052 - $7,724/month
  • Permit Center Technician III: $6,538 - $8,344/month
What you will be doing in this role:

Provide direct support to the public by receiving and reviewing permit applications; processing permit applications by obtaining needed information and reviewing plans for completeness; issuing permits; processing payments; and supporting the City of Concord’s Building team members.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Has a proven record of providing excellent customer service;
  • Has prior experience working with municipal agencies;
  • Has knowledge of the municipal permit processes and how it interrelates to other City agencies and external organizations;
  • Can interpret engineering and/or building plans, improvements standards, construction standards, building codes, maps, and legal descriptions;
  • Has the ability to communicate and work tactfully and effectively with both professionals and non-professionals;
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Embraces, promotes, and is guided by the City’s Mission, Vision and Values.

SELECTION PROCESS
