Position Overview

This hybrid role combines Medicaid billing responsibilities with client services coordination support. The position’s primary responsibility is managing accurate and timely Medicaid billing. During periods when billing workload allows, the role will also assist with client intake, coordination, and customer service functions to support overall operations. This position is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable balancing focused billing work with client‑facing support in a healthcare environment.

Primary

Responsibilities (Approximately 60%)Billing Specialist – Medicaid Billing
  • Process and manage Medicaid billing accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor claim status, follow up on pending or denied claims, and submit corrections or resubmissions as needed.
  • Verify Medicaid eligibility and coverage for new and existing clients.
  • Ensure all billing documentation meets Medicaid requirements and supports billed services.
  • Maintain accurate, organized billing records and client files in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Post payments and adjustments to client accounts.
  • Generate billing reports and provide updates to internal teams on billing activity and outstanding claims.
  • Identify billing trends, errors, or denial patterns and recommend process improvements.
  • Communicate professionally with Medicaid representatives and internal staff to resolve billing issues.
Secondary Responsibilities (Approximately 40%)Client Services Coordinator Support
  • Serve as a point of contact for incoming calls and emails in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Assist with new client intake and service coordination as needed.
  • Coordinate with case managers, therapists, and providers to support timely service delivery.
  • Verify insurance information and ensure accurate documentation in client records.
  • Schedule installations, service calls, and technical support when required.
  • Assist clients and caregivers with basic device setup, troubleshooting, and general questions.
  • Perform data entry, documentation, and administrative tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support internal teams with order processing, communication, and record maintenance.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure service satisfaction and issue resolution.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience with Medicaid billing, medical billing, or insurance claims processing strongly preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, DME, or customer service is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to switch between independent billing work and collaborative client service tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, billing software, and electronic claim systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional, dependable, and compassionate approach to work.
