Benchmark is a world‑leading electronic manufacturing services (EMS) provider with a focus on advanced manufacturing across aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor and other high‑technology sectors. The role involves precision machining and maintenance of industrial equipment.

• Set up and operate lathes, millers, shapers, grinders, planers and power drills.
• Work from blueprints, sketches and verbal instructions.
• Perform machining operations such as boring, turning, facing, reaming, grinding, milling and tapering.
• Work on machined parts, forgings and castings of varying complexity and dimensions.
• Determine and maintain proper operational sequences, calculate feeds and speeds, and chase tolerances of +/- 0.00005.
• Interpret blueprints to manufacture parts from a layout drawing; conduct mathematical calculations to meet design specifications.
• Perform bench work including filing, de‑burring, grinding, lapping, indexing, scraping and fitting for mechanical assemblies.
• Inspect own work with gauges, electro‑limit gauges and size blocks; make decisions on fits and tolerances.
• For Level II performers, set up, operate, alter, repair and plan own work; interpret results from instruments such as air gauges, electro‑limit gauges and size blocks with tolerances of +/- 0.001 to +/- 0.0005.
• Ensure quality of work meets or exceeds customer satisfaction standards.

• Ability to interpret a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule instructions.
• Understanding of manufacturing systems and tooling development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; presentation skills.
• Effective multitasking, organizational and prioritization skills.
• High attention to detail, discretion, confidentiality and professionalism.
• Capacity to support a 24/7 global operation and work overtime as required.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Physical capability to perform job duties per analysis forms.
• Level I: 2‑year technical degree (or apprenticeship certificate) preferred; 0‑3+ years machining experience.
• Level II: 2‑year technical degree (or apprenticeship certificate) preferred; 6+ years complex machining experience; CNC programming may be included.

Location:

Concord, CA. Shift 1. Work schedule Monday‑Thursday 5:00 am‑5:30 pm. Full time.

Compensation Range: $29.12 to $43.68 per hour, based on skills, experience and business needs.
