• Set up and operate lathes, millers, shapers, grinders, planers, and power drills.
• Work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Perform diversified machining operations such as boring, turning, facing, reaming, grinding, milling, and tapering.
• Work on machined parts, forgings, and castings of varied complexity and critical dimensions.
• Maintain proper operational sequences and perform necessary mathematical calculations.
• Determine appropriate feeds and speeds for all operations.
• Check own work to tolerances of ±0.00005 and ±0.001.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints to manufacture parts from a layout drawing without sketches or verbal instructions.
• Perform bench work, including filing, deburring, grinding, lapping, indexing, scraping, and fitting to complete mechanical assemblies from crude sketches, verbal instructions, or work samples.
• Set up, operate, alter, repair, and plan own work.
• Use instruments such as air gauges, electro‑limit gauges, and size blocks to check work and interpret results.

• 6+ years of experience in complex machining operations; CNC programming experience may be included.
• Minimum 2‑year technical degree or apprenticeship certificate preferred; equivalent education and experience acceptable.
• Strong ability to make mathematical calculations and interpret complex blueprints.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality, meeting or exceeding customer satisfaction.

2‑year technical degree or apprenticeship certificate preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience, as approved by executive management.

This position is classified as safety‑sensitive because impairment while performing job duties could pose a significant risk of harm. Benchmark may conduct a pre‑employment drug screen, which may include testing for THC, and may conduct reasonable‑suspicion and post‑incident testing in accordance with applicable law.

$36.54 to $54.80 per hour. Factors include skills, certifications, licensures, experience, training, and business needs.
