MAINTENANCE UTILITY MECHANIC
The Facilities Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department is seeking an experienced Maintenance Utility Mechanic. The vacancy is primarily responsible for the repair and maintenance of HVAC equipment and systems.
What you will be doing:The Maintenance Utility Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting HVAC/R equipment and systems, and may also be assigned work maintaining, repairing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting other utility, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment and systems. The role also includes performing preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Has technical knowledge and experience in maintaining mechanical systems, especially those pertaining to HVAC/R, and basic electricity and plumbing.
- Is experienced with construction‑related utility work.

High school diploma or equivalent.
ExperienceEquivalent to completion of a four‑year apprenticeship program in the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment. Some related journeyman‑level experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment may substitute.
A California Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment.
