About the RoleThe Swimming Pool Service Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that residential and commercial swimming pools are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality. This position involves regular inspections, cleaning, and chemical balancing to provide a safe swimming environment for clients. Technicians will also troubleshoot pool equipment, ensuring that all systems are operating efficiently. The end result of this role is to enhance customer satisfaction through reliable service and expert knowledge of pool maintenance.
Ultimately, the technician contributes to the overall enjoyment and safety of pool users by maintaining pristine pool conditions year-round.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of swimming pools, including skimming, vacuuming, and brushing surfaces.
- Test and balance pool water chemistry, adding necessary chemicals to ensure safe swimming conditions.
- Inspect pool equipment such as pumps, filters, heaters, and lighting systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding pool maintenance.
- Document service visits and maintain accurate records of work performed and chemicals used.
Attention to detail is crucial, as technicians must accurately test water and balance chemicals to prevent health hazards. Customer service skills are also important, as technicians interact with clients and must communicate effectively to address their needs. Preferred skills, such as certification and prior experience, enhance a technician's ability to troubleshoot complex issues and perform repairs efficiently, although prior experience is not required.
Overall, a combination of technical ability and interpersonal skills is vital for success in this role.

A typical work week is as follows:
Monday – Miscellaneous day such as filters, one-time cleanings, and other periodic jobs.
Tuesday–Friday – Route days consisting of servicing the pools in your designated area according to day of the week.
Shift times vary from 6:30–7:30 AM and end time is 3:00–4:00 PM (or when you finish your tasks for the day). These start and end times accommodate a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break if your shift takes longer than five hours.
