First Shift 5:00 a.m.

- 1:30 p.m., Hourly Wage $45.26/hour.
Second Shift 2:00 p.m.

- 10:30 p.m., Hourly Wage $46.26/hour.

About the Role

We are looking for an Industrial Maintenance Technician (Journeyperson Maintenance Mechanic) to support manufacturing lines ies include troubleshooting electrical, problem solving, day‑to‑day preventive maintenance, equipment repair, and fabrication necessary to maintain the facility and manufacturing equipment. This includes PLCs, VFDs, conveyors, grinders, fans, tools, heavy equipment, etc. The technician must read and understand mechanical and electrical diagrams and technical repair manuals.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and repair of processing/manufacturing equipment:
    Air Compressors, Conveyors, Industrial Fans, Electric Motors, Electric/Pneumatic tools, Gear Boxes, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with other employees in the facility, both verbally and in writing.
  • Read and understand mechanical and electrical prints, diagrams, and technical repair manuals.
  • Knowledge of process automation equipment:
    Proximity Switches, Transformers, Relays, Limit Switches, HMIs and PLCs within a manufacturing environment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair automated machinery. Familiar with VFDs, gearboxes, reducers, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Adapt to unscheduled repairs and change assignments quickly.
  • Complete assigned duties with little or no supervision.
  • Apply knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to maintenance work.
  • Operate personal lifts and material handling tools and equipment.
  • Use industrial material handling equipment including overhead cranes, rigging, forklifts, boom lifts, etc.
  • Fabricate and operate machine tools: oxy‑ace torch/welding, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, drill press, band saw, plate shear, etc.
  • Understand and implement OSHA regulations and safety regulations.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes meet quality specifications.
  • Share ideas, techniques, and procedures with coworkers.
  • Tri‑age and repair mechanical breakdowns.
  • Make steel fabrications: measuring, cutting, bending, and welding.
  • General repair of processing/manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Follow all GILLIG safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Full‑time availability.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Strong electrical maintenance skills including 3‑phase motors, variable frequency drives, controls, and troubleshooting.
  • Problem‑solving ability.
  • Proven competence via skill test(s).
  • Proficiency with power tools.
Other Qualifications
  • Technical understanding and enthusiasm.
  • Vocational training or AA/AS degree is a plus.
  • Basic safety awareness.
  • Flexibility.
Work Environment /

Physical Requirements
  • Fast‑paced and high‑quality manufacturing environment requiring attention to detail and urgency.
  • Frequent physical activity including bending, lifting, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and overhead reaching.
  • Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolding, or other elevated structures as needed.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment: safety glasses, bump caps, hearing protection, gloves, etc.
  • Union participation is required.
  • Standard start times: 5:00 a.m. for First Shift, 2:00 p.m. for Second Shift.
Additional Important Information About This Role
  • Probationary period of 90 working days; failure to pass results in termination.
  • Performance evaluations at 30, 60, and 90 days.
  • Vacation: 1 week after full year of employment.
