Role Description

The Field Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Martinez, CA. This position is responsible for performing maintenance and repair on a wide range of heavy equipment in the field and at customer sites. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic issues, conducting preventative maintenance, completing equipment inspections, and performing troubleshooting to identify root causes of equipment failures. The Field Mechanic will use appropriate tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical manuals to complete repairs safely and efficiently, document work performed, and communicate clearly with supervisors and customers about equipment status.

The role may involve working in varying outdoor conditions and requires adherence to company safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience as a diesel mechanic (required).
  • Proven ability to perform routine servicing, preventative upkeep, and complex repairs on mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on expertise working with heavy equipment in both field and shop environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals and schematics, utilizing diagnostic tools, and conducting quality inspections.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with the ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
  • Physical capability to lift and handle heavy components, work safely in varying weather conditions, and strictly follow safety protocols.
