Position: TDS Specialist
Location: Richmond, CA - Providing Services to Contra Costa County
Hours: Monday – Friday; 37.5 hours per week. Schedule may vary based on program needs.

The Tailored Day Services (TDS) Specialist provides one-on-one customized support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position helps participants build skills to be more independent, prepare for work or school, and get involved in their community. The TDS Specialist focuses on each person’s goals and provides support in real-life settings such as workplaces, schools, or community locations.
What You'll Do:
- Support participants in learning skills for work, school, or community activities
- Help participants set and reach academic and personal goals
- Encourage self-advocacy, confidence, and independence
- Provide coaching and guidance in social and daily living skills
- Keep accurate notes and reports about services and progress
- Communicate regularly with participants, families, and other community partners
- Drive participants to and from activities as needed
- Ensure safety and follow all program and agency policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or similar experience
- At least two years of experience supporting people with disabilities
- Comfortable working in community settings and ability to travel to various service locations within Contra Costa County
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Able to use Microsoft Word, email, and basic computer programs
- Speak, read, and write in English clearly
- Valid California driver’s license and good driving record

Compensation:
Wage: $23.25 per hour
Employer-paid benefits:
Medical, Dental, Vision, Life insurance, and LTD insurance valued at approximately $424.84 per pay period (about $5.23 per hour)
Paid time off:
- 11 paid holidays + 1 birthday holiday
- 12 sick days per year
- 10–25 vacation days per year (based on tenure)
- 30 hours of bereavement leave
- Up to 2 weeks of paid jury duty
Retirement:
2% employer 403(b) match after one year of service
Employer pays 100% of retiree dental and Medicare supplement premiums for eligible employees
Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate for approved business travel.
Required business use of a personal cell phone is reimbursed through a semi monthly stipend.
