We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Apigee Developer to design, develop, and manage enterprise‑grade API platforms using Google Apigee. The role requires deep expertise in API design, security, and lifecycle management, with a strong focus on scalable, high‑performance integrations.
A candidate with a strong Java/J2EE background and integration experience (microservices, middleware, ESB) will be highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and implementation of API solutions using Apigee (Edge/X/Hybrid)
- Define and enforce API design standards, governance, and best practices
- Build and manage API proxies, shared flows, policies, and security frameworks
- Implement robust API security (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, rate limiting, threat protection)
- Design and develop integration solutions across systems (cloud/on‑prem)
- Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of APIs
- Work closely with architecture, product, and engineering teams to enable digital transformation initiatives
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and code reviews
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and optimize API performance
- Support CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices for API deployments
- 8+ years of experience in software development and integration
- 4+ years of hands‑on experience with Apigee (Edge/X/Hybrid)
- API development and lifecycle management
- RESTful APIs and API standards
- API security (OAuth, JWT, etc.)
- Experience with API gateway policies, debugging, and analytics
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable)
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, etc.)
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills
- Strong background in Java/J2EE (Spring Boot, Microservices)
- Experience with integration technologies (ESB, middleware, Kafka, messaging systems)
- Exposure to Open Shift/Kubernetes‑based deployments
- Experience in financial services or enterprise‑scale platforms
- Knowledge of API monetization and developer portals
