KBW has teamed up with a client seeking a Project Accountant to support project teams and the Finance department. This role will be responsible for project accounting, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and general accounting activities.
Responsibilities- Set up projects, monitor budgets, and track project costs
- Prepare monthly client billing and support revenue recognition
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
- Process vendor and consultant invoices
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end close
- Maintain appropriate internal controls and financial documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting
- Partner with project managers and internal teams on financial matters
- Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with project-based accounting, billing, and financial management
- Experience with Deltek or a similar project accounting/ERP system strongly preferred
- Strong Excel and accounting systems skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000
