Red Gate Farm grow confident, hardworking, fun-loving, and healthy kids by connecting them to the land and farming. With a half acre garden, farm animals, and a large sugarbush we help kids get directly involved in the food system. We have seen again and again the personal growth and joy that comes from harvesting a crate of carrots, collecting eggs, washing greens, and seeing a meal served to your friends and teachers full of goodies you helped gather, clean, chop, and cook.

Red Gate Farm is seeking hard-working, kind, and enthusiastic individuals to help lead overnight school programs and summer programs and assist in running the farm. Farm Educators build meaningful relationships with youth, learn to take care of a variety of farm animals and vegetable gardens, and gain valuable leadership skills in the process. Red Gate Farm’s school and summer programs are purposefully small, with typically a 1:6 educator to student ratio.

The Farm Educator helps to develop programs, and assists with farm maintenance and operation as needed. This position is designed with many opportunities to learn and grow as an educator in a unique outdoor setting.

• Teaching or comparable experience working with children
• Strong references regarding work with children
• Community oriented and able to work in busy social settings
• Well-organized with an attention to detail
• Self-starter and able to take initiative
• Love for the outdoors and working in an outdoor environment

this position is: salaried, $35,568* - $50,000
