Job DescriptionThe special education tutor provides individual and group support to students and assists in the delivery of plans and programs to address their needs as directed by the special education teacher. The tutor may conduct informal assessments with children and/or perform other tasks related to improving student performance. This position consists of direct services to children and is a supplement to teaching.
The tutor provides instructional support to students in our Integrated Preschool. The successful candidate will have an understanding of current instructional practices and assessments and will be expected to communicate effectively with students and collaborate with staff. The special education tutor may assist in collecting data, facilitating communication, making accommodations or modifications to curriculum, or performing other tasks related to improving student performance as assigned by the special education teacher.
A bachelor’s degree is required.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
