The Town of Concord is seeking an experienced and collaborative engineering professional to serve as Assistant Town Engineer. As the second-in-command of the Engineering Division, this leadership position partners closely with the Town Engineer to oversee the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the Town's public infrastructure while helping lead the Division's day-to-day operations.

Reporting to the Town Engineer, the Assistant Town Engineer manages complex municipal engineering projects, supervises engineering staff, and coordinates the Division's work with Town departments, utility providers, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and the public. The Assistant Town Engineer provides day-to-day operational leadership for the Engineering Division, oversees major capital improvement projects, and directs Division activities in the Town Engineer's absence, ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality engineering services to the community.

This position oversees projects involving roads, sidewalks, ADA improvements, drainage systems, bridges, culverts, traffic control, and other public infrastructure. Responsibilities include capital planning, budgeting, permitting, bid administration, construction management, public outreach, regulatory compliance, and long-range infrastructure planning, including oversight of the Town's annual capital improvement programs.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader with strong technical, communication, and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities, supervising staff, and leading complex engineering projects. Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, seven to ten years of progressively responsible engineering experience, including supervisory experience, Professional Engineer (PE) registration, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a Massachusetts Soil Evaluator License.

Starting salary range: $98,343.70 to $, per year, depending on qualifications. This is a full-time, on-site position with a complete benefits package.
