Job Title:
Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg / Telemetry (Float Pool)

Location: Concord, MA

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (03/09/2026 – 06/06/2026)

Shift: Day Shift (07:00 – 19:30) | 12-Hour shifts

Emerson Hospital is seeking an experienced Med Surg/Telemetry RN to join the hospital-wide float pool. In this role, you will be a vital resource, floating between various units (including Medical, Surgical, Telemetry, and Stroke) to provide high-quality patient care. As a float nurse, you must demonstrate strong clinical adaptability and the ability to work independently in a variety of acute care settings.

• Patient Advocacy & Care: Protect, promote, and optimize health for adult patients while preventing illness and alleviating suffering through evidence-based practice.
• Float Flexibility: Provide comprehensive nursing care across similar units based on the facility’s daily operational needs.
• Telemetry Monitoring: Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms (telemetry experience is a mandatory requirement).
• Clinical Documentation: Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately (Meditech EMR is used).
• Patient/Family Education: Educate patients and families on disease management and health promotion.
• Collaboration: Support a supportive learning environment and participate in unit improvement initiatives.

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience is required.
• Travel Experience: Mandatory ; this position is not open to first-time travelers.
• Licensure: Active Massachusetts RN License (required for submission).
• Certifications: Active BLS (AHA, HSI, or ARC).
• Skills: Must be strong in Telemetry and Neuro/Stroke assessments.

    A telemetry test will be administered on the first day of orientation.
• EMR: Meditech experience is preferred but can be waived for exceptionally strong candidates.
• Vaccination: Flu vaccine is required prior to start.

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
• Scheduling: Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
• Location: Concord, MA.
• Local Radius: Local candidates reside within 50 miles of the facility. Local rates are typically lower than travel rates.
