Job OverviewThe Senior Network Data Center Consultant will work collaboratively as part of a team supporting a global financial services company. The role requires expert‑level experience in network design, analysis, implementation, and troubleshooting. The consultant must have a deep understanding of all aspects of the network—from the data center core to the edge—and be proficient in routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF for a globally diverse network infrastructure.
This is a remote role; the consultant must be able and willing to be onsite monthly at the customer’s location in Boston, MA. Candidates must currently reside in the New England area to facilitate monthly travel.
- Routing & Switching: Extensive experience with Data Center Core & Edge Routing and Switching platforms for LAN/WAN/MAN environments (Cisco/Nexus, Juniper, Arista).
- Expertise in design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure.
- Proficiency in routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and RIP.
- Networking: Data Center and Network Service Platform experience (F5, Info Blox, ACI).
- Extensive experience with TCP/IP, including design, subnetting, and troubleshooting.
- Layer 2 Network
Experience:
Spanning Tree, VLANs, 802.1Q. - Wireless & Remote Access: Experience with wireless technologies in corporate environments and remote access technologies (VPN, SSL).
- SD‑WAN/MPLS: Expertise in device configuration and troubleshooting (Viptela, Velo Cloud, Versa, Forti Gate, Silver Peak).
- QOS expertise and network security.
- Device configuration, troubleshooting, and analytics (ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, Illumio, Checkpoint, ZTA, Private Access, SASE).
- Scripting experience (Python).
- Experience with Voice and Collaboration platforms (CUCM, Contact Center, Enterprise Cloud Voice platforms such as Genesys, Avaya One Cloud, Twilio).
- Voice Network Experience, including SIP Head End Design and SBC experience (Ribbon, Oracle, and/or Cube).
- MS‑Teams Cloud Integrated Voice & Direct Routing.
- E911 Integration (Intrado ERS/EGW, Red Sky).
- SIP Protocol experience.
- At least 10+ years of network experience in a large enterprise global environment with complex network infrastructure.
- 15+ years of industry experience working with cross‑functional teams.
- CCIE certification or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Strong customer service and documentation skills.
- Collaborative attitude and ability to work with other business units and application teams.
- Strong understanding of the big picture and how everything integrates.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize activities, and meet deadlines.
- Technical leadership skills to guide less experienced personnel.
- Excellent organizational, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- US Citizen.
- Able to pass background checks.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Total of 15 years’ experience in the Information Technology industry, with a minimum of 10 years as a network consultant.

$65,000 – $70,000 per annum (actual compensation will depend on experience and location)
