Patent Prosecution Associate (Electrical Engineering or Computer Science)

Level: Junior to Mid-Level

Experience: 1–4 years of patent prosecution experience in private practice, ideally with an EE or CS technical focus

Location: Boston, MA

Compensation: $150,000–$310,000

A Boston-based IP boutique is seeking a junior to mid-level Patent Prosecution Associate with a background in electrical engineering or computer science. • Prepare and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications
• Draft high‑quality patent applications and Office Action responses
• Work directly with inventors, engineers, and in‑house legal teams
• Support strategic patent portfolio development and management
• Assist with due diligence, licensing, and litigation support as required

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field (Computer Science also considered)
• Active USPTO registration required
• 1–4 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm setting
• Experience with U.S. and international patent prosecution
• Industry experience or patent litigation exposure is a plus
• Strong academic credentials and excellent written and verbal communication skills
