Electro-Mechanical Technician

Responsibilities- Assemble mechanical and electrical components, subassemblies, products, or systems.
- Understand and execute simple to complex maintenance tasks for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, and work orders to determine material requirements or assembly instructions.
- Assemble sections of machines to customer specifications; attach units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames using hand and power tools.
- Detect defective material, unusual conditions, or operating difficulties and report to supervisor with accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions.
- Work with low voltage (24 VDC, 20 VDC) and high voltage (3‑phase up to 480 Vac) systems.
- Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings using rivets, bolts, and soldering equipment.
- Route wire on an electrical wiring board—pin & plug process, strip wire, crimp wire, terminate wire, solder wire, and build wiring harnesses; install wiring harnesses in subassemblies.
- Use a multimeter and other test equipment to evaluate electrical assemblies for continuity, current, functionality, and voltage.
- Troubleshoot equipment to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions; report design or print errors to supervisor.
- Disassemble units to replace parts or for shipping.
- Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition; inform supervisor of defective or faulty equipment or materials; maintain quality standards and follow safety rules.
- Participate in and assist with the implementation and sustainment of operational excellence (OpEx) best practices.
- At least 2 years of experience as an Electro‑Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Attendance at a technical school or relevant military experience preferred.
- Ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at waist.
- Ability to stand for long periods during a 10‑hour shift.
- Ability to periodically lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability for internal department relocation based on production needs.
- Safety – observes and enforces safety procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
