Job SummaryThe clinical resource nurse partners with the Nurse Director and Radiology Leadership to ensure operational readiness of the department in the provision of direct nursing care for the IR patient. This position has operational oversight responsibilities and participates with the nursing team in care planning and delivery, utilising the nursing process to provide appropriate comprehensive care in accordance with the stated philosophy and objectives of the Nursing Service Department and the Department of Radiology.
The clinical resource nurse facilitates communications between care areas and personnel in Radiology and coordinates care of IR patients with outside departments (ER, other hospitals, CCU) in collaboration with unit leadership. The Clinical Resource Nurse serves as a role model to IR staff.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited professional nursing school required.
- Experience: Minimum of two years experience in a procedural area and/or ICU required. Previous charge nurse or nurse manager experience strongly preferred.
- Licensure and/or Certification: Current licensure to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts required. BLS healthcare provider required. ACLS certification preferred.
- Skills: Basic nursing skills, assessment skills, critical thinking skills, organisational skills, computer skills, ability to maintain confidential information, excellent customer‑service skills, and proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
