Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) to provide shift-level nursing leadership within our substance use treatment program in Concord, MA. Position Summary

The Charge Nurse (RN) provides leadership and oversight to nursing staff during assigned shifts, helping ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and compassionate care. This position serves as a key connection between nursing staff and leadership and helps coordinate staffing, clinical operations, and day-to-day patient care needs.

The Charge Nurse also plays an important role in maintaining compliance with clinical, regulatory, and accreditation standards while promoting a structured, supportive environment for both clients and staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to nursing staff during assigned shifts
  • Coordinate staffing needs, including assisting with call-offs and on-call coverage
  • Oversee nursing operations to promote continuity and quality of client care
  • Assist with client admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Support pre-certifications and related clinical documentation as needed
  • Participate in preparation for regulatory and accreditation surveys
  • Assist with orientation and onboarding of new nursing staff
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and professional team environment
  • Address and help resolve client and staff concerns promptly and professionally
  • Communicate client care needs, clinical concerns, and staffing issues to nursing leadership
  • Ensure nursing documentation and medication administration practices meet required standards
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Massachusetts regulations, and applicable accreditation requirements, including CARF
  • Complete all required training and other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide shift-level direction and oversight to nursing staff
  • Support staff with clinical questions and day-to-day patient care needs
  • Provide coaching and guidance to promote safe, effective care delivery
  • Help maintain appropriate staffing and workflow throughout the shift
  • Escalate significant clinical, staffing, or operational concerns to nursing leadership
Required Qualifications Licensure & Education
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts, or eligibility for Massachusetts licensure
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification as required
Experience & Skills
  • Strong leadership, organization, and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and applicable state licensing requirements
  • Familiarity with CARF or similar accreditation standards preferred
