Overview
The Facility Security Officer (FSO) will be responsible for managing and implementing security programs to safeguard organizational assets, resources, and classified information. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of federal security policies, procedures, and oversight to ensure compliance with government regulations. The FSO will serve as a key security liaison, supporting the protection of sensitive materials and maintaining the integrity of security protocols within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities- Conduct ISR/FSO duties such as processing DD254s, escorting visitors, maintaining facility checklists, conducting inspections, and managing security databases.
- Respond to security-related issues promptly and maintain Open Storage Area (OSA) accreditation.
- Handle Personnel Security actions including requesting, reviewing, and submitting clearance packages.
- Track security clearance statuses and ensure compliance with security training requirements.
- Perform security self-inspections, assess risks, and support customer assessments.
- Coordinate with security professionals, program managers, oversight authorities, and external stakeholders.
- Document compliance and update facility checklists regularly.
- Record security activities including clearances, incident reports, and visit requests in centralized systems.
- Conduct security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training as needed.
- Ensure proper protection measures are in place for classified and sensitive information.
- BA degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6 to 10 years of experience.
- Prior experience as a Facility Security Officer and/or CPSO FSO training certificate from DCSA.
- Working knowledge of NISPOM, DoD security guidance, and ICD standards.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Experience with classified/unclassified networks and facility clearance requirements.
- Proficient in security databases such as SIMS and NISS.
- Skilled in conducting security briefings, indoctrinations, and foreign travel briefings.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a regulatory environment.
- Experience in managing secure space construction per DCSA standards.
- Knowledge of OPSEC planning and implementation.
- Familiarity with Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems.
- Experience conducting security incident inquiries.
- Professional certifications or affiliations in security field are a plus.
Pay range: $80,000.00–$ (annual).
This pay range is based on qualifications and experience, and assumes all role requirements are met.
