The Roadside Service Tech Flatbed is responsible for providing safe and best‑in‑class roadside solutions for AAA members while ensuring positive member experiences in a tow vehicle or flatbed vehicle. Flatbed Technicians respond to member requests for service within a given ETA, ensure personal and member safety, educate members on possible issues, provide jump starts, replace flat tires, present vehicle entries, and provide other related services.

They provide minor mechanical assistance (if trained and equipped) to get the member’s vehicle on the go instead of a tow. If unsuccessful, they tow disabled vehicles to repair facilities or other member‑requested destinations; promote AAA products and services; and ensure complete resolution of member issues. Flatbed Technicians achieve club performance standards for go rates and membership satisfaction.

Pay Range: $23.50 – $27.00 / hour. Base pay may vary depending on job knowledge, skills, shift differentials, and experience. Annual bonuses are offered; certain roles may earn additional compensation through monthly and/or quarterly incentives.

Additional Shift Differentials: $2.75 per hour overnight shift (10 pm – 6 am); $1.75 per hour evening shift (6 pm – 10 pm); $1 per hour weekend shift. Differentials can be combined.

Shift: Wednesday‑Saturday, 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM.

• Accept calls and respond to Dispatch or members with ETA to destination. Locate members and greet them, taking action as necessary to manage emotional states (e.g., calming angry members, providing reassurance to fearful or anxious members) while handling technical aspects of the situation. Assess safety of the scene on arrival to ensure the vehicle is in a safe location to provide service.
• Provide efficient minor mechanical assistance (if trained and equipped) and towing service:
  Ask probing questions to diagnose probable causes of breakdowns. Make a preliminary determination of the best course of action based on all information collected. Ask for assistance if unsure about a situation. Provide battery boost as appropriate and follow all safety procedures. If towing is required, safely tow vehicles following club policies and procedures, along with AAA towing manual guidelines or manufacturer’s specifications.
• Maintain AAA high standard of service and image:
  Keep service vehicle and equipment in good, safe working order; conduct safety checks; maintain inventory of tools and products; follow traffic and motor vehicle laws and safety procedures; present a professional image; follow temporarily repaired vehicles to ensure member safety; operate vehicle MDC computer to receive and update call information; collect club revenue accurately; safeguard confidential information and follow paperwork guidelines.
• Promote AAA products and services:
  Educate members on AAA battery replacement service and refer calls to appropriate technicians. Promote other AAA products. Work with Dispatch to get members to intended destinations (e.g., hotels, airlines, rental cars).
