A Personal Banker processes all transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures. The successful Personal Banker will be the “frontline” of our bank and plays a fundamental role in achieving our customer satisfaction and revenue growth objectives by cross‑selling bank products and services.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately process a high volume of customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, check cashing, and other routine teller transactions.
- Verify endorsements, signatures, negotiability, account balances, and required identification prior to processing transactions.
- Receive, count, verify, and disburse currency and coin while maintaining balancing standards.
- Maintain, balance, and reconcile an assigned cash drawer, including vault buys and sells, currency and coin orders, and cash recycler transactions where applicable.
- Process commercial and consumer night deposits, bank‑by‑mail transactions, and currency and coin exchange requests.
- Assist customers with safe deposit box access in accordance with established procedures.
- Issue cashier’s checks, money orders, prepaid cards, and other official bank instruments.
- Process miscellaneous services including savings bond redemptions, utility payments, property tax payments, license sticker renewals, and postal services.
- Complete and maintain required regulatory documentation, including Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) and other BSA/AML documentation.
- Reconcile teller work, research and resolve teller outages, balancing differences, and transaction discrepancies.
- Perform location operational duties including processing reports, transaction corrections, and operational documentation.
- Assist with location opening and closing procedures as assigned.
- Perform advanced teller functions requiring greater technical knowledge and independent judgment.
- Process complex transactions and assist with exception items and balancing discrepancies.
- Perform daily balancing and reconciliation of teller ancillary services in accordance with established procedures.
- Serve as a resource to other tellers regarding operational procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with ATM servicing, vault operations, and location cash management.
- Support training and onboarding of new tellers.
- Serve as the lead teller and operational resource within the branch.
- Balance and reconcile the vault, cash recycler, ATMs, and branch cash position.
- Perform supervisor overrides and authorize transactions within established authority.
- Make check hold decisions in accordance with bank policy.
- Conduct teller audits, investigate outages, and resolve balancing issues.
