Senior Accountant

Vaco has partnered with our client to hire a Senior Accountant to join its team. This position is in north Concord, NH.

• Own full-cycle bookkeeping activities, including sales reporting, cash management, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions
• Maintain accurate accounting for inventory and purchasing activities, including cost accounting methodologies such as FIFO
• Prepare and analyze monthly and periodic profit and loss statements, including variance analysis and explanations for management
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and prepare schedules to support internal reviews and year-end audit processes
• Manage state property tax reporting and compliance
• Support cash flow tracking and monitoring activities
• Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related reporting
• Coordinate and process intercompany billings and related reconciliations
• Assist with inventory accounting and reporting in a manufacturing environment
• Partner with finance leadership on special projects and ad hoc initiatives as assigned
• Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and best practices within the accounting function

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably within manufacturing or public accounting environments
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to apply accounting principles accurately and consistently
• Solid understanding of inventory costing, fixed asset accounting, and manufacturing-related accounting practices
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial trends, identify variances, and clearly communicate findings to leadership
• Advanced Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis tools
• Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
• Self-directed and capable of working independently, while also collaborating effectively within a small team
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet monthly and quarterly deadlines
• Experience with cost accounting or retirement plan administration (such as 401(k)) is a plus
• Willingness to work primarily on-site, with limited remote flexibility available on an exception basis
