- Process accounts payable or accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review invoices, vendor payments, and tenant rent payments.
- Reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies, and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting software regularly.
- Generate and analyze financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow summaries, and variance reports.
- Assist in developing and monitoring annual budgets for each managed community.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with property managers and ownership groups to track rent collections, lease-related financial matters, and financial performance.
- Provide support during audits by gathering necessary documentation and reports
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably within fee management and/or manufactured housing community management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to generate and interpret financial reports.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify financial trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Effective communication skills for vendor, community manager, and ownership interactions.
The Accounting Associate:
Cooperative Division is responsible for managing financial transactions related to accounts receivable or accounts payable within the fee management line of business. This role ensures accurate financial record-keeping, timely processing of invoices and payments, and compliance with company policies and accounting regulations. The Accounting Associate works closely with community managers, vendors, and owners to maintain efficient financial operations and provide comprehensive financial reporting.
